Over 75 year's experience tailoring in London
An example of one of our suitsSims and MacDonald first stemmed from Harold Sims, who was a bespoke tailor in the city before the second world war. He had shops in, Bishops gate, Cannon Street and Gresham Street.

In 1971 the city was expanding and the Cannon Street and Bishops gate shops had to be closed, due to be demolished and rebuilt into offices.

The remaining shop in Gresham Street was run by Alan Sims ( who was the nephew of Harold Sims ) and Anthony MacDonald, who became partners in 1973. Thus re-named “Sims and MacDonald.”

The shop powered on until 2002, when yet again they had to relocate due to the heavy redevelopment in Gresham Street. Sims and MacDonald re-located to its present day location in Lamb’s Conduit Street.

Mr A Sims and Mr A MacDonald have long gone and in 1996 the company was bought by the employees of Sims and MacDonald, Jon Gowdy and David Auton. They did not feel the need to change the shops name, but to keep its long bespoke history going.
